We
aim to manage the Country Park to balance recreational use with the
needs of wildlife.
The busiest areas of the Park have surfaced paths which are kept wide
andopen to cope with the number of visitors and ensure that visits
are enjoyable.
Other areas, such as the Nature Reserve are quieter and managed primarily
for the wildlife. |
|
Cattle graze the river meadows throughout the summer. Grazing is an
essential management tool as the cattle remove the coarser, strong
grasses and allow more delicate grasses and flowers to thrive. |
Dogs are welcome in most areas of the Park, provided that they
are kept under close control.
However, dogs are not permitted in the Nature Reserve, to prevent
disturbance to the wildlife in this area.
Please keep your dog under close control at all times - keep them
away from other visitors and the cattle in the river meadows.
Please clean up after your dog to allow everyone to enjoy the
Park. There are many dog bins around the Park, and bags are available
from the Visitor Centre. |
